Why does the Quartus II software crash during the EDA Netlist Writer for designs targeting Stratix V devices? - Why does the Quartus II software crash during the EDA Netlist Writer for designs targeting Stratix V devices? Description Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 13.1 and earlier, the EDA Netlist Writer may crash for designs targeting Arria® V, Cyclone® V and Stratix® V devices. This problem may occur if your design contains transceiver pins without the correct protocol assignments. Resolution To avoid this problem, assign protocols for transceiver pins using the Transceiver Analog Setting Protocol assignment in the Quartus II Assignment Editor. Alternatively, this can be set in the Quartus II Settings File (. qsf ) using the XCVR_ANALOG_SETTINGS_PROTOCOL assignment.
