Link Simulation with the Advanced Link Analyzer - 25 Minutes Serial links increase in speed as the application data requirements grow. This makes their design more challenging with each updated protocol specification. A poorly designed link can result in costly re-spins and delays in time-to-market. The Advanced Link Analyzer is a graphical link simulation tool from Altera that allows you to quickly determine if your Altera® FPGA will be able to communicate effectively through your system. This course will introduce you to the tool and show you how to quickly build, test and evaluate your serial links, to provide you with the confidence needed to continue in your design process. Course Objectives At course completion, you will be able to: Verify link performance through simulation using IBIS-AMI and s-parameter models Identify potential board issues early in design cycle Quickly optimize transmitter and receiver buffer settings Skills Required Familiarity with Altera transceiver architecture Familiarity with high-speed serial protocols Understanding of signal integrity concepts and parameters Knowledge with IBIS-AMI and s-parameter models and their use If the audio for the course does not start automatically, press pause and then play on the course player. A transcript of the course audio is available in the Notes or closed captioning (cc) feature of the player. If you need assistance with this course, please email fpgatraining@altera.com .
