When configuring multiple Stratix, APEX II, or APEX 20K devices in passive parallel asynchronous (PPA) mode, can I use the nRS pin to check the RDYnBSY status on the DATA7 pin? - When configuring multiple Stratix, APEX II, or APEX 20K devices in passive parallel asynchronous (PPA) mode, can I use the nRS pin to check the RDYnBSY status on the DATA7 pin?
Description Yes. Configuration circuitry for the PPA mode is designed such that in a mutli-device chain, only the device that is currently being configured will respond to the nRS strobe. Only the device that has nCE low and nCEO high will respond to the nRS strobe by asserting DATA7 . All other devices in the chain will tri-state to avoid contention.
