Description Due to a problem with the Quartus® Prime Software version 24.3.1 and earlier, you might experience slow behavior when using the Quartus® Prime Software GUI. A very large quartus2.qreg file can cause this behavior. Resolution To work around this problem, delete the quartus2.qreg file located in the user's home directory. For example, on Windows OS, the file can be located on: C:\Users\PC_user\quartus2.qreg And for Linux OS, the file can be located on: ./home_user/PC_user/.altera.quartus/quartus2.qreg The file will be created and restored to its original size next time you open the GUI. This problem is fixed in version 25.1 of the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
