Why does the F-Tile Ethernet Multirate IP variant in loopback receive a single “o_rx_startofpacket” or “o_rx_valid” indication when “i_p<n>_tx_rst_n” is deasserted? - Why does the F-Tile Ethernet Multirate IP variant in loopback receive a single “o_rx_startofpacket” or “o_rx_valid” indication when “i_p<n>_tx_rst_n” is deasserted?
Description Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.3, the F-Tile Ethernet Multirate IP in either external or internal loopback may receive a single “ o_rx_startofpacket ” or “ o_rx_valid ” indication when the “ i_p<n>_tx_rst_n ” signal is deasserted if the following parameters are set: “ Enable IEEE 1588 PTP ” and the “ Link fault generation option ” parameter to “ Bidirectional ” and the “ Client interface ” option set to “ MAC Avalon Streaming Inteface ”. This invalid packet indication is not driven by the transmit client interface and is not followed by “ o_rx_endofpacket ”. Resolution To work around this problem, use the “ i_p<n>_rst_n ” signal to reset the IP when in loopback or keep “ i_p<n>_rx_rst_n ” asserted in conjunction with “ i_p<n>_tx_rst_n ”. This problem is not currently scheduled to be fixed.
