The design example contains the JTAG to Avalon Master Bridge core which does not support the 64-bit ModelSim simulation software. This issue affects the 10GbE MAC with XAUI PHY design example that contains the JTAG to Avalon Master Bridge core. Resolution Run the ModelSim simulation software in 32-bit mode to simulate the 10GbE MAC with XAUI PHY design example. This issue will be fixed in a future version of the 10-Gbps Ethernet MAC MegaCore function.
