How does input/output buffer information specification (IBIS) model ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) structure in an input/output (I/O) buffer? - How does input/output buffer information specification (IBIS) model ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) structure in an input/output (I/O) buffer?
Description The ESD protection diodes are embedded in the clamping curves ([POWER clamp] and [GND clamp]). The IBIS specification requires that the I/V data to spread over the full -vcc to 2*vcc range. It is important that the simulation sweep range be sufficient to forward bias the ESD protection diodes.
