Mapping SSO IDs in Community - Mapping SSO IDs in Community If a community user reaches out to change the email address associated with their community profile, or they have logged into the community via SSO and they are not logged in as their migrated user account, a new community account ( New lyCreated Account ) must be created and mapped to the original account ( LegacyAccount ) . Users making the request must provide their original community username and the email ( LegacyAccount ) associated with it, in addition to the community username and email associated with the newly created account ( New lyCreated Account ) . Provide the instructions below to a user who needs assistance : To update your community email, we need you to create a new community account. We will map the old account to the new account . Using an incognito window, create a new community account with your new email by selecting "Register" at the top of the page. Do NOT perform any activity with this new profile (like creating posts, etc ). Once the new account is created, please provide your original community username and email, and your new community username and email, and both profile URLs in the table below: L egacy Account New ly Created Account Email Address: Email Address: Username: Username: Profile URL: Profile URL: We will map your new account with your old account. You will not lose any of your contributions during this process. The following are the steps necessary to map the new ID to the existing account, once you have the required information back from the requestor: As an example, consider the existing user’s username is LegacyAccoun t . Go to Community Settings -> Users -> Manage Users > Manage Member Enter the LegacyAccount username in the text box and select the username . Copy the value in the SSO ID field and paste it in a Notepad file. In the SSO ID field, add “ _dupe ” at the end of the string. Click Save . In the same page, now search for the LegacyAccount . Update the SSO ID fi el d with the value copied and pasted in to the Notepad file (in Step 6). Click Save . Once complete with the above steps, r equest the user to sign into the community , either via SSO or the email address associated with the Newly Created Account . After the u ser has been logged in successful ly and confirmation is received, the LegacyAccount can be closed. All community contributions and reputation established on the community will remain intact. Closing a Duplicate Account As a last step, we can close the new user account as that is not going to be used in future. To close the account: Navigate to Community Settings -> Users -> Manage Users > Delete Users Enter the LegacyAccount username in the text box and select the username.
