Why can't I select the Block-Floating Point data type for the FFT FPGA IP? - Why can't I select the Block-Floating Point data type for the FFT FPGA IP?
Description In the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.2 and earlier, you might see that the Block-Floating Point data type is not available in the Unified > FFT Intel® FPGA IP (intel_FPGA_unified_fft). This is because the IP does not include compatibility for that data representation. Resolution In order to be able to select Block-Floating Point, create an instance of the FFT FPGA IP (altera_fft_ii). This IP can be located on the IP Catalog under DSP > Transforms. If your design is for an Agilex™ 7 FPGA, download and install patch 0.14 for the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.2. Download Readme for Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software 23.2 Patch 0.14 (.txt). The inclusion of the altera_fft_ii IP for Agilex™ 7 devices is scheduled to be ready in a future release of the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
