Self-Guided Lab: Embedded Nios® II Processor & Platform Designer (Legacy Course) - 28 Minutes This online course consists of an hour lecture and a three hour self-guided lab explaining how to use the Nios® processor, the Platform Designer system development tool, and the Nios® II Embedded Design Suite (EDS) to create a customized embedded system. The lab will take you through all development steps, from project setup and hardware development to “Bare Metal” embedded software development and downloading the resulting project on the DE10-Lite development kit from Terasic. You will need to acquire this board from the Terasic website or from third-party distributors such as Mouser or Digikey. You can find information about this board through a link in the Resources tab at the top right of the training when it launches. Course Objectives At course completion, you will be able to: develop a control-plane based system using the Nios processor Connect a system in Platform Designer develop “bare metal” software programs for a Nios processor using the Nios II embedded design Suite (EDS) Skills Required Basic understanding of computer architecture Experience with software development in C If the audio for the course does not start automatically, press pause and then play on the course player.
