Why can’t I achieve a timestamp accuracy of +/- 3.0nSec with the 10GE or 25GE F-tile Ethernet Multirate FPGA Hard IP variant with the “Enable IEEE 1588 PTP” parameter enabled and the “Timestamp accuracy mode” parameter set to “Basic”? - Why can’t I achieve a timestamp accuracy of +/- 3.0nSec with the 10GE or 25GE F-tile Ethernet Multirate FPGA Hard IP variant with the “Enable IEEE 1588 PTP” parameter enabled and the “Timestamp accuracy mode” parameter set to “Basic”? Description Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.2, the 10GE or 25GE F-tile Ethernet Multirate FPGA Hard IP variants with the “Enable IEEE 1588 PTP” parameter enabled and the “Timestamp accuracy mode” parameter set to “Basic” might fail to achieve a timestamp accuracy of +/- 3.0nSec. The best timestamp accuracy for these variants which can be achieved in this mode is +/- 4.0nSec. Resolution There is no work around for this problem. This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus® Prime Pro edition Software.
