Do additional power-up transient currents need to be added to the Early Power Estimator (EPE) or Power Play Power Analyzer (PPPA) reports for Stratix V devices? - Do additional power-up transient currents need to be added to the Early Power Estimator (EPE) or Power Play Power Analyzer (PPPA) reports for Stratix V devices?
Description No. The transient currents at power-up are already included in the minimum current requirements in the EPE and PPPA tools for Stratix® V devices. When the power-up sequence is correctly followed, you do not need to account for additional transient currents for your power regulator design. The recommended power-up sequence for Stratix V devices can be found in Power Management in Stratix V Devices (PDF) Related Articles What happens if the Stratix V device power sequence is not followed?
