Resolution To work around this problem, perform one the following actions: If the internal error occurs during a normal compilation, add this .qsf (Quartus Settings File) assignment to disable post-route physical synthesis. set_global_assignment -name POST_ROUTE_PHYSICAL_SYNTHESIS OFF If the internal error occurs during an ECO compile then do not perform any actions actions that require routing such as make_connection.
