Is the power estimation for I/O in Intel® Stratix® 10 devices accurate in the Intel® FPGA Power and Thermal Calculator (PTC) when using an imported .qptc file? - Is the power estimation for I/O in Intel® Stratix® 10 devices accurate in the Intel® FPGA Power and Thermal Calculator (PTC) when using an imported .qptc file?
Description Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v20.4 or earlier, the tool will generate an incomplete I/O pin parameter in the .qptc file. This means that you may see an undercounted I/O power estimation value for the Intel® Stratix® 10 EMIF interface in the Intel® FPGA Power and Thermal Calculator (PTC). Resolution To work around this problem, follow these steps Step 1 – Refer to I O Page in PTC Tools and identify the “EMIF” selection under the “Application” column. Step 2 – On the same IO Page, refer to the “Pin Clock/Memory Clock Freq (MHz)” column and check for missing I/O pin frequency information (showing value “0”) Step 3 – Update the “Pin Clock/Memory Clock Freq. (MHz)” of the “EMIF” Application This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 21.3.
