Questa FPGA Starter edition License issue. - Questa FPGA Starter edition License issue. I am trying to launch Questa, but im getting the following error within cmd: C:\altera\24.1std\questa_fse\win64>vsim -c ** Fatal: Failed to initialize licensing environment. License environment not set correctly. Unable to checkout a license. Vsim is closing. ** Error: Invalid license environment. Application closing. I have followed intels guidance found here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/docs/programmable/683472/25-1/and-software-license.html I have added systems variables and checked that that the license can be found using: C:\altera\24.1std\questa_fse\win64>echo %SALT_LICENSE_FILE% C:\altera\24.1std\questa_fse\licenses\license.dat When I launch questa, I get the siemens splash screen and then the application silently fails. I had not seen that LM_LICENSE_FILE was deprecated. That's odd. Add LM_LICENSE_FILE and point to the license.dat file with it.
