Description The Quartus® II Programmer may generate this error when you try to program a 1G bit flash, because programming this device requires more than 2 GB of system memory. Altera recommends using the 64-bit versions of Windows and the Quartus II software to increase the available memory to more than 2 GB. Refer to the Related Solution below for information about how to use 64-bit Altera Software. By default, 32-bit versions of Windows limits processes to 2 GB of memory. If you are using a 32-bit version of Windows and have more than 2 GB of system memory, you can edit the boot.ini file to allow up to 3 GB of memory per process.
