This error occurs because the simulation tools are expecting a 64-bit version of the library, but only the 32-bit version is found. Resolution To work around this issue, delete the following code from the msim_setup.tcl file for ModelSim-Altera (or other corresponding setup script for the simulation tool you are using). -pli <library directory> /libbytestream_pli.so This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future version of the Quartus II software.
