Why is the user 7-segment display not as bright as the power 7-segment display on the Cyclone III Development board? - Why is the user 7-segment display not as bright as the power 7-segment display on the Cyclone III Development board? Description The user 7-segment display is not as bright as the power 7-segment display on the Cyclone® III Development board because the user 7-segment display signals are driven by 1.8V but it is powered by 2.5V. Due to design constraints, the 1.8V I/O standard had to be used for the Cyclone III device I/O pins driving the user 7-segment display. The power 7-segment display is brighter since it is driven by the MAX® II device with the 2.5V I/O standard.
