Why does the Triple Speed Ethernet standalone SGMII PCS with PMA exchange incorrect device ability status of 0x4001? - Why does the Triple Speed Ethernet standalone SGMII PCS with PMA exchange incorrect device ability status of 0x4001?
Description Due to a bug, the Triple Speed Ethernet (TSE) SGMII PCS only variant does not correctly advertize its device capability to the partner device during auto-negotiation. Currently the TSE PCS only variant always exchanges the control word 0x4001 when the correct code word would typically be 0xd801 depending on the configuration of the IF_Mode Register. This issue affects all TSE PCS SGMII only implementations in all devices. This issue will be fixed in a future version of the Quartus® II software. Resolution
