Why does the Quartus II installer ask for 32-bit libraries that I already have? - Why does the Quartus II installer ask for 32-bit libraries that I already have?
Description Due to a problem in the installation script of the Quartus® II software version 12.0, the installer is unable to correctly detect some installed 32-bit libraries in RedHat 5 or CentOS 5 operating systems. Due to this problem, the Quartus II installation script prompts the user to install the missing required 32-bit libraries even though they are already installed on the system. Resolution To work around this problem, perform one of the following two steps: If you know that the 32-bit libraries are already installed, enter y to ignore the warning and proceed with the installation. To see a list of installed libraries, run yum list glibc libXext libX11 libXau libXdmcp freetype fontconfig expat Alternatively, download this setup file and replace the one in the unpackaged directories. If you are using the standalone installer or the ISO, run ./setup to continue with the installation. If you are using the altera_installer.external.sh, perform the following steps: Replace the setup script in the ./bin directory change directory to the ./bin directory Run export PATH=./:/build2/install/mongodb/bin:/usr/lib64/qt-3.3/bin:/usr/NX/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/home/jchang/bin for sh-style shells or setenv PATH=./:/build2/install/mongodb/bin:/usr/lib64/qt-3.3/bin:/usr/NX/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/home/jchang/bin for csh-style shells Run ./setup This error is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 12.0 SP1.
