Description Firewall configurations may prevent the Quartus® II software from communicating with FLEXlm license servers. The following messages may also be generated in the license server debug log: (alterad) TCP_NODELAY NOT enabled Resolution If a FLEXlm license server is hosted behind a firewall, assign specific ports for the mgcld and alterad daemons and the FLEXlm license server process within the license file: SERVER <Server Name> <host/NIC ID> <License server port number> Vendor alterad <path to daemon> port= <user defined port number> Vendor mgcld <path to daemon> port= <user defined port number> For example: SERVER myServer 0123456789ab 2700 Vendor alterad ./alterad port=2702 Vendor mgcld ./mgcld port=2702 Note: Port Numbers in the FLEXlm Auto Assign region 27000-28000 should not be used Firewalls may need to be configued to open up the ports used
