Agilex® 7 F-Tile at 200G: High-Speed Ethernet in Action - Agilex® 7 F-Tile at 200G: High-Speed Ethernet in Action
As network bandwidth continues to scale, so do the expectations on high-speed transceivers. It’s no longer enough to support 200G Ethernet on paper—designers need solutions that bring links up quickly, adapt intelligently, and run reliably at full rate. With Agilex® 7 FPGAs, that’s exactly what F-Tile transceivers are built to deliver. In the demo video linked below, we take a closer look at a 200G-4 Ethernet link running on Agilex 7 silicon. The setup is simple: an Agilex 7 I-Series FPGA connected through QSFP-DD interfaces, with each lane operating at 53.125G PAM4 in line with IEEE standards. From there, the system does what high-performance designs are expected to do—initialize, adapt, and move seamlessly into full-speed operation. The link begins with Auto-Negotiation, where endpoints exchange capabilities and align on the operating mode. Link Training follows, dynamically tuning transmitter and receiver parameters to optimize signal quality. Once convergence is achieved, the system transitions into data mode and begins transmitting Ethernet traffic at full rate. What stands out is how naturally this process unfolds. The transition from initialization to steady-state operation is smooth, with continuous visibility into link status, signal integrity, and error metrics throughout. Engineers can observe the system in real time—tracking adaptation behavior, monitoring SNR, and confirming error-free performance as traffic flows. To reflect real deployment conditions, the design is exercised across multiple configurations, including loopback and different cable lengths. In each case, the link establishes cleanly and maintains stable operation, highlighting the robustness of the transceiver architecture. This demonstration brings together several key aspects of the Agilex 7 F-Tile design: support for high-speed PAM4 signaling, integrated Auto-Negotiation and Link Training, and the flexibility to operate across different physical environments—all while maintaining full 200G throughput. For designers building next-generation networking systems, this kind of behavior is essential. Reliable link bring-up, predictable performance, and clear system visibility all contribute to faster development and smoother deployment. The result is a high-speed solution that not only meets the demands of modern Ethernet standards, but does so in a way that is practical, observable, and ready for real-world designs. 👉 Watch the demo to see real-time 200G Ethernet link bring-up and performance on Agilex 7 F-Tile. - 2026-04-13
