Cable and Adapter Drivers Information - Design Pages {"title":"Cable and Adapter Drivers Information"} Some Altera® products require drivers. You must set up the correct drivers before using those products. For example, to use an Intel download cable or programming unit to program devices with the Quartus® Prime software, you must first set up the correct driver. Note: Some cable drivers are not available for download on this page. They are available after you install the Intel Quartus Prime software in the <Quartus Prime Installation Directory>\drivers directory. Table 1 provides driver installation and set-up procedures for the Windows* versions of the Intel Quartus Prime software. Table 2 provides driver set-up procedures for Linux* and UNIX* versions. Drivers for the legacy MAX+PLUS® II software are included with the software setup. Windows 7 (64 bit), Windows Vista (64 bit) and Windows XP (64 bit) operating systems do not support ByteBlaster cables. To use the Altera FPGA Download Cable II on Windows XP, you must update Windows XP to SP2 or later. A driver is required if the T-guard is connected to a parallel port other than LPT1.
