Description When using Quartus® Prime Pro software version 17.0 and before, SignalTap II Logic Analyzer may show "Program the device to continue" for the second or subsequent devices with SignalTap instance if there are multiple devices of the same type in the JTAG chain. This makes SignalTap unusable for those devices. For example In a JTAG chain with 3 similar devices A1-A2,A3, SignalTap will only work on the first device (A1) only. In a JTAG chain of A1-B1-A2-B2-B3, SignalTap will work on A1 and B1 only. Resolution To work around this, install and use standalone Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Programmer and Tools version 17.1 and later, and use the SignalTap application.
