Intel® Simics® Simulator for Altera® FPGAs - This instructor-led class is taught in a virtual classroom environment for 1 half day of instruction. To perform the lab exercises, you will connect to a remote computer provided by Altera® FPGA Training and pre-configured with all the necessary tools. Information required to connect to the remote system will be provided during the class. No setup is needed. Course Description Intela® Simics® Simulator for Altera® FPGAs is used to test your software early on in the development process. Intel® Simics uses a virtual platform for Altera® Agilex™ 5 and Algilex 3 SoC FPGAs, to simulate the corresponding hardware. The model and virtual platform provide you with capabilities to test your software in early stages of the development process, but you can also use simulation as part of the continuous integration process. This instructor-led training for Intel® Simics® Simulator covers the functionalities for the simulator that include hardware and software inspection, dynamic system configuration, hardware modeling tools, scripting, and a rich set of other features. Course Objectives At course completion, you will be able to: Deploy the virtual platform for Altera® Agilex™ 5 and Agilex 3 SoC FPGA to use Intel® Simics® Simulator command line interface, scripting and debugging Perform hardware inspection and interact with the Linux OS prompt in the virtual platform for Agilex 5 and Agilex 3 SoC FPGA Integrate an Ashling RiscFree IDE for Altera® FPGAs workspace and project to debug and set breakpoints with Agilex 5 and Agilex 3 SoC FPGAs Skills Required Previous knowledge on Altera SoC FPGAs Basic Embedded Linux OS knowledge to interact with serial console and terminal. Understanding of the Booting flow for SoC FPGAs. Recommended: Previous Altera® SoC FPGA Basics or Altera® Stratix® 10 and Altera® Agilex™ 7 SoC FPGAs instructor led training.
