Why does the Remote System Upgrade (RSU) function fail to revert back to the factory image in Arria V, Cyclone V and Stratix V devices? - Why does the Remote System Upgrade (RSU) function fail to revert back to the factory image in Arria V, Cyclone V and Stratix V devices?
Description The RSU may fail to revert back to the factory image in Arria® V, Cyclone® V and Stratix® V devices due to the same reason that is documented in the following errata sheets: Stratix IV E Errata Sheet (PDF) Stratix IV GX Errata Sheet (PDF) Stratix IV GT Errata Sheet (PDF) One of the following invalid application configuration images may cause incorrect operation: A partially programmed application image A blank application image An application image assigned with a wrong start address Resolution To avoid this incorrect operation, use one of the following options: Ensure the application image is correctly stored at the right address Use the enable POF checking option show in Remote System Upgrade IP Core User Guide (ALTREMOTE_UPDATE) (PDF) This feature allows the remote update block to verify the existence of an application configuration image before the image loaded.
