Why does JAM programming of a QSPI flash device fail when connected to an Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGA and when using the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 20.4 and later? - Why does JAM programming of a QSPI flash device fail when connected to an Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGA and when using the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 20.4 and later?
Description Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 20.4 and later, errors may occur when programming a .jam (JAM) file to a QSPI flash device attached to an Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGA at high JTAG clock frequencies. Resolution To work around this problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v20.4 or later, reduce the JTAG clock frequency to 6 MHz. You can modify the J TAG TCK frequency of an Intel FPGA Download Cable II with the following command: > jtagconfig --setparam <cable_number> JtagClock 6M This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 21.4.
