Hot-Plug Event Causes No Image Display for Certain TMDS Bit Rates - Hot-Plug Event Causes No Image Display for Certain TMDS Bit Rates Description When you run the HDMI 2.0 designs (av_sk_hdmi2 and sv_hdmi2) with an external sink equipment, you will not see the image display on the sink if you perform a hot-plug event (unplug and then replug) on the HDMI cable between the device and the external sink. This issue only occurs for Transition Minimized Differential Signaling (TMDS) bit rates above 3.4 Gbps (for example, 4Kp60). If the TMDS bit rate is above 3.4 Gbps, the external sink equipment requires the device source to reset both Scrambling_Enable and TMDS_Bit_Clock_Ratio bits of the TMDS Configuration register to 1 during a hot-plug event. This issue is caused by the faulty level shifter on the HDMI 2.0 HSMC daughter card for the TX hot-plug detect (HPD) pin. Resolution To work around this issue, perform system reset ( cpu_resetn ) to recover the image display after a hot-plug event between the device source and external sink equipment. This issue will be fixed in a future version of the HDMI 2.0 designs.
