No porting of the PROFINET stack is required—just load the prepared executable. A comprehensive API library connects the master application through its memory interface. The PROFIBUS Master Subsystem is suitable for factory automation and process control applications. Its support of Master Redundancy provides seamless switchover from a primary to backup PROFIBUS DP Master. Its optional line redundancy functionality allows for access to the field devices via redundant fieldbus cables. The support for re-configuration of individual PROFIBUS slaves allows for modifications during run-time without shutting down the plant.
