Why does Active Serial (AS) configuration fail in Intel Agilex® 7 and Intel® Stratix® 10 devices when the configuration flash device is set to 4-byte addressing mode? - Why does Active Serial (AS) configuration fail in Intel Agilex® 7 and Intel® Stratix® 10 devices when the configuration flash device is set to 4-byte addressing mode? Description In Intel Agilex® 7 and Intel® Stratix® 10 devices, you might observe Active Serial (AS) configuration failure when the configuration flash device is set to 4-byte addressing mode. This is because Intel Agilex and Intel Stratix 10 devices expect the configuration flash device to operate in 3-byte addressing mode. Resolution A patch is available to work around this problem for the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 20.1, this will set your configuration flash device to operate in 3-byte addressing mode when you reprogram your configuration flash device using the JIC programming flow.
