Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software Version 26.1 includes the following new features and enhancements:
- Added support for new Agilex™ 3 devices. For details, refer to Changes in Device Support.
- Added support for new Agilex™ 5 devices. For details, refer to Changes in Device Support.
- Upgraded support for some Agilex™ 3 devices. For details, refer to Changes in Device Support.
- Upgraded support for some Agilex™ 5 devices. For details, refer to Changes in Device Support.
- Enhanced the Visual Designer Studio with the following new features:
- Added native integration with Quartus projects using a new .vds file extension for systems.
- Added a new system project folder structure that provides a clear delineation between source and generated files that allows for easy identification of files that need to be version controlled.
- Made the Board Support Package Editor available in GUI mode.
- Added "Mark for Debug" capability to Visual Designer Studio (VDS) systems when troubleshooting your design.
- Added archiver support for VDS-based projects to enable easy sharing of your design.
- Enabled VDS-generated interconnect parameters that you can edit for customization.
- Enhanced the Power and Thermal Analyzer (PTA) as follows:
- Improve PTA responsiveness
- Improved the formatting of PTA reports for easier analysis.
- Added thermal mapping support.
- Enhanced the Quartus® Prime installer to enable long path support in Microsoft® Windows® operating systems.
- Improved licensing usability as follows:
- Enabled debugging license issues from a command line.
- No-cost device licenses for Agilex™ 3 devices and Agilex™ 5 E-Series devices are obtained automatically when you compile designs that target those devices. In earlier versions of Quartus® Prime Pro Edition, you had to obtain the no-cost device licenses before your compiled your design.
- Added Signal Tap Python API.
- Added Interface-aware Node Finder.

Nios® V as follows:
- Added RISC-V compressed instruction support.
- Added FreeRTOS driver support for ECC in Nios® V/m.
- Added new Altera® AXI3 bus functions model (BFM).
