Follow these steps to program the virtual device.

  1. Click Tools > Programmer in the Quartus® Prime software to launch the Programmer Tool.
  2. Click Hardware Setup to select the virtual hardware. Once selected, a virtual device chain is created.

  3. Click Auto Detect to detect the virtual device. A single Agilex™ 5 device with QSPI128 flash memory is displayed.

  4. Right-click the row with that device in the file list, then click Change File.
  5. Select the programming file you want to program.
    • For SOF and RBF files, the Programmer can program the device.
    • For JIC file, the Programmer can program, verify, blank-check, examine and erase the flash.
  6. Select the Program/Configure checkbox to enable programming.
  7. Click Start. The operation is successful when the progress bar reaches 100%.
